2019 was a great year here in South West Montana. With relatively cool temps and good moisture throughout the summer, the rivers stayed in great shape. 2020 looks to be another outstanding year. We’re ready for spring time and look forward to fishing with you.
The 2019 season is in full swing! It’s been a long cold winter; the fish are hungry and eager to eat. With over a 100% snow pack in the area, the rivers and lakes will be in great shape. With more water in Clark Canyon Reservoir, the Beaverhead River experienced higher flows over the winter which will produce some extra large fish! We are excited about the upcoming season and look forward to sharing the experience with you! Call or email with any questions.
Well things are warming up here and so is the fishing. April and May is a great time of year to fish. The bugs are active and we’re seeing some great hatches. This past week I’ve done quite well throwing small dries, big dries, streamers and of course nymphs. Depending on the river and condition that day, you can basically fish any technique with great results. Did I mention there is virtually nobody else on the water. I’m running my spring special through May. Call 406-660-1082 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any inquiries. Hope to see you soon.
The ice on the rivers and lakes are beginning to melt on the waters in S.W. Montana. With some pleasant weather in the forecast this spring we will see some huge early season hatches! MTF is offering our Spring Special again this year. Save $100 a day on our guided fishing trips. With virtually no crowds and hungry fish eager to fatten up after a long winter, April and May is the perfect time to quench your thirst for some wild Montana trout.
Spring has sprung! With all the unseasonably pleasant weather we have been seeing the fishing has been great. Skwalas, March Browns, Midges, and BWOs are all on the menu and these trout are eager to fill their bellies. Don’t miss out on some of the best fishing of the season. Montana Trout Fishers Spring Special is in affect through the end of May.
I’m currently in Xai Xai Mozambique. I’ve finally made it to the beach! I’m traveling north today to Tofo beach where I hope to start my fishing journey. I will be out of the country and out of phone service until April 18th. Please send me an email if you have any inguiries.
Spring is here. Sort of. It will snow, and there will be rain and wind and sun and sandhill cranes. But for now, all we can do is enjoy a few (albeit unusual) cocktails with good friends and tie some bugs while waiting for the hatches of April to really shift the spring fishing into high gear.
MTF is offering a pretty good deal for spring fishing, and we are really flexible when it comes to dates. Want to fish a day or two in April or May, but you’re afraid of getting snowed/hailed/rained/lightninged (not a real word) on? Ask us about our package deals. During the spring months, we can offer guided fishing trips that work around the weather. Book 1 or 2 days of fishing with us within a 2 or 3 day window. For example, say that you’re coming down to Dillon from Bozeman, and the crowded rivers up there, for a weekend and want to fish one day. You can book one day of fishing with us over a Saturday and Sunday window. If the weather is good on Saturday, we fish! If the weather is better on Sunday, we fish then! If the weather is not-so-great both days, we still fish one day, but at least we tried. If the weather is great both days, you can also opt to add a second day of guided fishing while you’re in town already. That’s the beauty of it – we will block off a few days for you and be flexible. Let us know, and don’t be shy. Shoot us an email if you have any questions about guided fishing trips, no matter what time of year you are thinking of fishing in Montana.
We’ve been hit with some cold and snow here in Southwest Montana over the last few days, which got us to thinking about warmer times, flowing rivers, and green grass. Here are the two young bull moose that called the upper Beaverhead River home this summer. We would see these guys pretty frequently over the course of the summer and they tended to mind their own business. It won’t be too long now until the hatches of April, and the great fishing that accompanies them, are here. Hang in there, it’s almost spring.
The Spring in Montana can offer some of the best fishing of the entire year. After a long winter there’s no better way to quench your thirst for dry fly action than the early season hatches of S.W. Montana. Same great service but you save $100 a day! Good through May 2016.
